Self Study Online

Courses: Level 2 and Level 3

Studying online via our Skills Network platform enables you to learn whenever and wherever you are, with freedom to revisit topics as much as you like.

Learning is self-paced, allowing you to study around commitments such as work and family, and is often a more cost-effective way to learn, as there is no need to travel.

You will be provided with all the support you need to achieve your qualification, including a personal tutor, who you can discuss course content and progress with, plus a support team to guide you along your learning journey.

Each course has an estimated course length and during this time, you will read and view a range of course materials, complete activities and carry out additional research before you undertake an exam to complete the course and gain your qualification.

Remote Classes

Courses: Level 2 and Level 3

Studying remotely will enable you to learn from the comfort of home, but still benefit from live lessons and interaction with tutors and other students.

Fortnightly remote lessons will take place at a scheduled time on Microsoft Teams, and you will have access to award-winning online resources from Mindful Education to work through at your own pace.

You will be provided with all the support you need to complete your exam and achieve your qualification, including a personal tutor, who you can discuss course content and progress with, plus a support team to guide you along your learning journey.

Benefits of Online Learning

Online learning is education that takes place over the internet. For many people, studying virtually helps solve many challenges that learners may face when traditionally on campus.

Not only can you gain a respected qualification but also you can take advantage of digital resources and expert tuition. By understanding how you can benefit from online learning, you can understand why it is a great educational option for many students.

Flexible Studying

We all have busy lives so being able to study around commitments is one of the first setbacks when it comes to progressing your education. Online studying allows you to learn from the comfort of your home with devices you already have such as a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. Plus, you won’t have to travel to campus, saving you time commuting.

Many online courses are part-time. You do not have to take time off from school or work. Balancing these two areas is key to completing the course to the best you can.

Lower Cost

Tuition fees can cause concern when wanting to get back into education. These financial costs when studying online are often more affordable than learning on campus. You will eliminate the cost of transportation, childcare and more. Your course materials will also be digital, so you will not have to purchase textbooks or extra resources.

Personalised Education

Online learning allows you to study how you want. Every student learns differently; visual learners may benefit from computer-based learning more than in-person. Many students avoid distractions by learning from home or in a comfortable environment by personalising their studies for their way of learning.

Progression into Careers

Gaining a qualification online can make you stand out to employers. Learning online allows you to gain the skills employers are looking for when hiring.

If you are looking to change your career or wanting to gain further skills vital to your industry, these courses are a stepping stone to your chosen industry.

Shorter Course Duration

Depending on what online course you are participating in, you may have a shorter course duration. You can complete the course in your own time and over a longer time frame so there is less disruption to your work and personal life.

Resources

Online learners have access to additional digital resources, enabling them to revisit course topics at a time that suits them. On campus learning enables you to interact with tutors face-to-face and get immediate feedback. This can help you clarify concepts, ask questions, and receive personalised guidance that may not be as immediately available in online learning.

Collaboration

Learning on campus allows you to collaborate with other students on projects and assignments and facilitates group discussions. Collaborative learning helps to improve social skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, which are key in the workplace.

Resources

All Quay Accounting Courses learners benefit from accessing on campus facilities and support, such as libraries, IT support, personalised development programmes and careers, health and wellbeing support.

Networking Opportunities

On-campus learning enables you to network with peers, lecturers and industry professionals. These connections can lead to work placements, job opportunities, and other valuable career opportunities.

Personal development

In-person learning can help you develop important life skills such as time management, communication, and teamwork. These skills are essential for success in both academic and professional settings.

While online learning can offer flexibility and convenience, in-person learning on campus provides unique opportunities and experiences that cannot always be replicated in the virtual environment.
